Giuliana, Age 7
Juan Bautista Peña School
Buenos Aires, Argentina
In July, it's wintertime in Argentina, and it's very cold! Here, pumas (cougars) are the local wild animals that you'll see. I live in an apartment with my mother and sister, and I speak Spanish. Next year, I'll study English. I take a bus to school every day. My teacher's name is Soledad. She taught me lots of important things like the meaning of independence and freedom. The most interesting famous person from my country is Dr. René Favaloro. He's an excellent cardiology surgeon who built his own foundation and taught other doctors and students. He also saved many lives. I like salsa and pop music. My favorite holiday is Christmas. I enjoy the fireworks and the presents. If I could change one thing about my country, it would be the state of the poor children.
