I joined Colgate because it was and it is a truly multinational company, well known, with a very good reputation in the local markets. I saw the company as a good place where I could learn, have opportunities and grow. I liked the respect and professionalism shown even during the interview process as well as the way I was motivated at the time of the interview. I am a Global Information Technology Director currently based in the US. At Colgate, I like the culture, company values, the people, the diversity, the way the company respects all their employees, the opportunities to grow, the fairness in decisions, the transparency of doing business, the management that takes care of company performance and financial health to guarantee the business for shareholders and employees, and of course the products. I started when I was 24 years old in Colgate Argentina, Buenos Aires, as an Analyst Programmer. I then moved quickly to different positions within IT, becoming the IT Manager and IT Director. My responsibilities then expanded to manage IT in the Southern Cone region, and I was later transferred to Brazil, Sao Paulo, with responsibilities for South America. I finally transferred to the United States where I currently live with my family. I had many exciting projects. One of them was my role as Project Manager for business processes and system integration of two consecutive company acquisitions in Argentina. Then there was a reengineering initiative that was followed by the implementation of an end-to-end SAP application in South America, including Brazil. I lead the project on the ground with a truly cross-functional local team and an IT US-based team. The transfers to Brazil, and recently to the USA, have been been very enriching experiences, not just professionally, but for the family also. My family speaks three languages, and has had the opportunity to know many places and cultures. We have a lot of good friends in different parts of the world and my children are having unique experiences that will prepare them for the changing world in the future. Delivering results, accepting challenges, embracing change, demonstrating skills and leadership, working in teams, being committed and being honest are some of the key things to being successful at Colgate. I would recommend a career at Colgate because it is simply one of the best places to work. This is confirmed by independent surveys in different countries. It is a solid company with strong financials, strong brands, and very good management. We are one of the leading companies in implementing Information Technology solutions, working very closely with our global external partners.
