I chose to join Colgate because of its strong company values, focus on people development and long reputation as a company with high ethical standards. I am currently the Human Resources Director for Global Marketing and Customer Development based in the US. Most of my time is spent on people development, change management, ensuring appropriate pay for performance and recruitment. There are several things that I like about working at Colgate. First: Colgate is a very international company so you are always working with people from different backgrounds and perspectives; Second: Colgate places a high value on people development and Third: Colgate has an outstanding reputation as an ethical Company. Since joining Colgate, I have grown professionally in several ways. I better understand the importance of personal leadership and how it has an impact on the people you work with on a daily basis. I also have learned that while you must be technically competent at what you do, you cannot forget the importance of building relationships. Every Colgate opportunity has been exciting and very valuable in my development. Some of my favorites have been working in Europe and Latin America. It is great to work with smart and creative people from all over the world. In addition, I am really enjoying the fast pace of my current position and getting to better understand the Company’s commercial strategies. There are several different recipes for being successful at Colgate. I think a person must possess leadership capability, be competent in their function, be able to network and influence, and build strong relationships at all levels of the organization. I would recommend a career at Colgate because there are lots of opportunities for personal development and growth and it is a company for which you can be proud to work. |
