Step 1. Choose beverages for your menu.
For a BBQ, consider a range of refreshing options that includes
wine spritzers or sangria, fruit juices and flat and sparkling
waters. Add these items to your grocery list.
Step 2. Calculate how much food you’ll
need. Figure on one lobster and two pieces of lamb per person.
Call ahead to your fish supplier and order your lobsters
at least five days in advance.
Step 3. The weekend before your event,
check your grill. Clean and prep it in advance. Make sure
you have enough gas or charcoal, as well as the large stockpot
you’ll need for the lobster. Add charcoal or gas to
your shopping list, if necessary.
Step 4. Do your grocery shopping at least
three days before your event. That way, if you forget anything,
you’ll know well in advance. Delegate. Ask a friend
or relative to put together a music selection for your gathering.
Step 5. Have bug spray, sunblock and citronella
candles on hand as well as trash bags for easy cleanup. Light your
citronella candles 2-3 hours before your event so they can
start working before your guests arrive.
Step 6. Make sure to mingle with everyone
before the night is over.
