Christmas Eve

Remember. In addition to wine and mixed drinks, be sure to include holiday favorites such as eggnog, holiday punch (with some spirits for the adults!) and mulled wine or cider.

Shop early. Everyone shops at this time. To avoid crowds and stress, get all your supplies and ingredients at least a week ahead of time. If you need to order specialty items like fish, or meats from your butcher, or bakery items, you should place those orders 7-10 days before your event.

Decorations. Take last year’s decorations out of storage and get your tree up early. Doing this at least the weekend before your gathering gives you time to add or subtract as needed.

Holiday spirit. Use Christmas-themed place mats and play some of your favorite Christmas songs. Poinsettias, mistletoe and Christmas ribbons dress up your dining room. Scented candles add a great touch as well.

Christmas Eve. Have small gift bags for your guests-- especially the children.
