Have you ever been in a meeting at work or talking to someone and suddenly your mouth feels as dry as a desert? It’s so arid inside that you can't even swallow. It's hard to speak. You must get water immediately. That feeling is called dry mouth and its source is a lack of saliva. Dry mouth is one of the many causes of bad breath and it shouldn’t be ignored. Although the treatment for dry mouth depends on the reason, dry mouth is often a side effect of medication. You might not notice that you have it because your odor-detecting cells in your nose eventually become accustomed to the constant flow of bad smells from the mouth. You may only notice the dry mouth.
