Introducing Heartwarming Smiles - a heart and oral health education program

Emerging research suggests an association between gum disease and heart disease, as well as other serious conditions. Studies show that heart disease and severe gum disease have a number of common risk factors, suggesting that they may also share a causal or directional relationship.

WomenHeart and the makers of Colgate Total® toothpaste have partnered to create the Heartwarming Smiles program, to educate and encourage women to improve overall health and well-being.

The program features the Heart Promises pledge – a promise to make small lifestyle changes that may have an impact on our heart health and our overall health. Read more about WomenHeart here.

Every day, women face challenges. Many of us juggle the demands of career with those of family, caring for our children and, often, our parents. Fortunately, the path to our better health can begin with just a few small changes.

We invite you to take our pledge, then share it with all the wonderful women in your life. Remind those you love that their health — and hearts — are important to you.
