How many mobile dental vans are there within the program?

  • In the U.S., Colgate currently funds eight mobile dental vans as part of Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures® program.

What would I see aboard one of Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures® mobile dental vans?

  • Each of our mobile dental vans is a functioning "dental office on wheels", specially designed to help establish a friendly comfort level for all children. Staffed by volunteer dental professionals, our mobile dental vans feature two dental chairs for conducting dental screenings and a waiting area where kids learn about healthy habits before their screening.

Are Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures® dental screenings free?

  • Our scheduled mobile dental van visits, education materials, dental screenings and treatment referrals are free to children as a part of Colgate's ongoing commitment to improving oral health among children.

What is a typical "van visit" like?

  • Throughout the year, we bring Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures® program to local areas by organizing and participating in community events. Our 'van visit' feature engaging games and videos that educate and entertain children as they await their free dental screening.


    Our free screenings are visual examinations conducted inside Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures® mobile dental van by volunteer dental professionals and general do not include preventative care. Parents and guardians receive screening results, a referral to local dentists if needed, and children take home their own Colgate® toothbrush and toothpaste to help build healthy habits at home.

How do you recruit volunteer dental professionals?

  • Colgate's partnerships with the National Dental Association, the Hispanic Dental Association and the American Dental Association serve as the source for our volunteer dental professional. Colgate also partners with many dental schools across the country to serve underserved communities. Some of our volunteer dentists and hygienists have been serving their communities through Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures® for more than 15 years.

How many visits does Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures® make each year?

  • In the U.S., Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures® makes approximately 3,200 van visits each year.

How can my child receive a free dental screening?

  • Our fleet of Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures® mobile dental vans travel to select communities to provide free dental screenings to children in need. To view the locations where the van visits, please click here and contact one of our local coordinators for event dates.

If Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures® does not reach my area, can I request a van visit?

  • At the end of each year, our team collaborates with governments, dental professionals, schools and community groups to identify areas in need for the upcoming year's van schedule. To submit your local community for consideration, please click here.

How do I request Colgate® product samples?

  • At Colgate, we receive many requests from individuals and organization for donations. Since there are more requests than we can fulfill, we focus on organizations concerned with young people and education. Click here to view our donation policy.

What is the Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures® Kindergarten Classroom Kit?

  • The Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures (BSBF) oral health education program gives teachers, children, and families the tools they need to make good oral health a permanent part of their lives. With a focus on prevention, the program builds self-esteem and teaches good oral health practices in order to create lifelong habits. And most importantly, BSBF inspires kids to take control of their own oral health. Its standards-based approach and flexibility makes it easy to adapt to your own classroom needs and meet curriculum objectives. The multi-media kit includes a video, posters, storybooks, curriculum, parent take-homes and Colgate Kid’s toothbrush and toothpaste samples for each student.

Who can get the Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures Kindergarten Classroom Kit?

  • If you are an educator of kids in grades K-1, you may sign up to receive a Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures kit. All applications are screened and if you are NOT a registered teacher at your school, you will not receive a kit.

  • It is completely free!

When do I have to turn applications in by?

  • To receive your Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures kit in February 2016, you must apply by December 31, 2015.

When will I receive my kit by?

  • You will receive your Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures kit in February for National Children’s Dental Health Month.

Can I re-order a kit each new school year?

  • Your Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures kit will be automatically shipped to you each year - there’s no need to reorder. To update your profile, click here.
