For the fifth consecutive year, Colgate and the American Dental Association in June will celebrate Oral Health Month: Share More Time, Share More Smiles. The program is designed to educate Hispanic families about proper oral health care.
The theme for this year is "Lead by Example," a message aimed at parents when it comes to teaching children good oral health habits.
Colgate will publicize Oral Health Month with a newspaper insert featuring campaign spokeswoman Karla Martinez, one of the hosts of "Despierta America." There will also be promotions through social media, ADA media and MouthHealthy.org.
Social media will also play a role in Colgate's charitable donations for Oral Health Month. Dentists and the public can share photos of their families or themselves practicing oral hygiene on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or Google Plus. For every person that posts a photo and uses the hashtag #TimetoSmile, Colgate will donate $1 to the ADA Foundation's Give Kids A Smile, a program that provides children with oral health care at no cost.
