Frequent Asked Questions

  • How does Colgate® Renewal work?

All Colgate® Renewal toothpastes contain a formula that helps reverse early gum damage. The Colgate® Renewal formula is patented and uses the active ingredient stannous fluoride, stabilized with an inactive zinc phosphate system, to fight bacteria, for gums that are healthy and revitalized.

  • What are the different types of Colgate® Renewal?

Colgate® Renewal has four offerings: Whitening Restoration Gel, Whitening Restoration Paste, Sensitivity Rescue Gel, and Enamel Fortify Gel.

  • How does the whitening benefit of Colgate® Renewal compare to Colgate® Optic White® Renewal?

Colgate® Optic White® Renewal is powered by 3% hydrogen peroxide to remove 10 years of yellow stains when brushing twice daily for 4 weeks. The Colgate® Renewal formula does not contain hydrogen peroxide. It gently whitens teeth by removing surface stains.

  • What are the active ingredients in Colgate® Renewal?

Stannous fluoride is the only active ingredient used in Colgate® Renewal and it provides multiple benefits; namely, anticavity, antigingivitis, and anti-sensitivity benefits. Stannous fluoride is unstable in the presence of water, which is commonly used in toothpaste formulation. Colgate® Renewal’s proprietary technology protects stannous fluoride in the presence of water and oxygen, delivering highly available stannous fluoride to target and help repair early gum damage with additional benefits of anti-cavity, sensitivity relief, anti-plaque, and fresh breath.
