Matilda lives in La Paz, in a house with a garden. She lives with her parents and two sisters. At home, they speak Spanish. Matilda finds La Paz to be a bit cloudy and cold at times. There are 33 students in Matilda’s class. She travels to school by gondola. For lunch, she usually eats soup, chicken, or spaghetti. If an exchange student came to visit Matilda in Bolivia, she would serve them Plato Paceno. It is a typical dish in La Paz made from fried cheese, potatoes, beans, and corn, with a spicy sauce of tomatoes and chilies. Matilda thinks that the most famous person from her country is the president, Evo Morales.
