Global Marketing Development Summer Internship Program
At Colgate-Palmolive and Hill’s Pet Nutrition, we offer an exceptional Global Marketing Development Summer Internship designed for those who have a strong interest in pursuing a career in consumer product brand management. As a Summer Intern you will be placed on a U.S. Marketing team. Working with a Brand Manager, you will be an active member of a group managing one or more brands. You will gain knowledge of and interact with professionals within:
- Advertising
- Marketing Research
- Sales Promotion
- Packaging Design
- Finance
In addition, throughout the summer you will be exposed to our organization through formal orientations and informal meetings with members of senior management, Global Business Development, Supply Chain, Sales and Research and Development. Technical training and department overview sessions will also be available to you throughout your internship. Successful Interns demonstrate strong team building and communication skills, as well as the ability to plan and prioritize.
Your experience as an Intern may also provide you the opportunity to join us on a more permanent basis and participate in the full-time Global Marketing Development Program, leading to a position in general management, as well as a variety of other career options.

Internship Requirements:
- Completion of first year MBA degree in Marketing or Management

Cross-Functional Leadership:
- As a Summer Intern you will work with and lead a variety of teams ranging from supply chain, finance, global design and research to drive key business decisions on your brand
- Summer Interns are responsible for varying aspects of the brand business and must have a strong sense of leadership, organization and communication in order to drive results and work effectively
Senior Management Engagement:
- The Global Marketing Development Summer Internship program allows students to interact with key senior management members on a variety of levels
- Summer Interns will attend senior management breakfasts, lunch & learns, and other events where they will have the opportunity to share their experiences and discuss the fundamental business and corporate strategic issues with Colgate's senior leadership team
- As a Summer Intern you are a fully integrated member of the brand team with real projects and deliverables that will allow you to drive key brand decisions and expose you to different strategic and brand challenges
- Summer Interns develop key skills and exposure in problem solving, analytics, new product design and strategy
Global Marketing Development Program
At Colgate-Palmolive and Hill’s Pet Nutrition, we offer a full-time Global Marketing Development Program designed for those who have a strong interest in General Management. Those who are successful in the program are able to pursue a career in a commercial environment. The program focuses on leadership, strategic thinking, analytics and team building. Throughout the program, you will interact with colleagues across various disciplines within the organization and at different stages in their careers.
The full-time Global Marketing Development Program is a one-year program and consists of rotations in U.S. Sales, U.S. Marketing and Global Business Development. While in Sales, you will be working in one of our U.S. Sales Regions on projects designed to give you exposure to key account and regional marketing issues. Your next assignment will be on a brand management team in U.S. Marketing where you will be given immediate responsibility for managing a portion of one of Colgate’s well-known U.S. brands. The final Global Business Development rotation exposes you to global marketing strategies and their impact on the businesses around the world.
Upon completion of the program, you will be placed in U.S. Marketing on one of our core teams: Oral Care, Personal Care, Home Care or Pet Nutrition. Your cross-functional experience in the Global Marketing Development Program will give you the tools you need to help manage one of our businesses and will set you on the path to a general management career as well as a variety of other career options. Our practice of promoting from within and rotating brand assignments will further enhance your opportunities within our organization.
Requirements:
- Completion of MBA degree in Marketing or Management
- Prior experience in Marketing, Sales or other business discipline
- Four months on-site at one of Colgate's Sales offices across the country
- As a member of our Sales organization, you will:
- Receive hands-on account management learning
- Interact with key account decision-makers
- Develop an understanding of the relationship between manufacturer and retailer
- Better understand the customer by analyzing store and shopper data
Brand Rotation:
- Five months at our headquarters in New York City or Topeka
- As a member of our U.S. Marketing Brand team, you will:
- Work with cross-functional teams on a day-to-day basis
- Develop an understanding of each department's role in product management
- Evaluate in-market performance using various metrics
- Help develop brand strategies and retail marketing plans
Global Rotation:
- Three months at our headquarters in New York City or Topeka
- As a member of our Global Brand Development team, you will:
- Build strategic thinking skills as you help manage brand equities across the world
- Interface with other Colgate offices around the globe
- Travel to a Colgate location outside the U.S.
- Learn what it means to run a truly global business
