That's why we’re championing a brighter future for 2 billion children and their families as we work to improve the health, education, and wellbeing in South Africa and around the world. Since 1991, the Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures® initiative has touched the lives of more than a billion children in over 80 countries. Kids learn powerful habits like brushing twice a day with fluoride toothpaste.

Our mission is to connect underserved communities to oral health education, free dental screenings and treatment referrals. Together we can promote lifelong learning opportunities and create a world of bright smiles and even brighter futures. We don’t do this important work alone. We partner with parents, teachers, governments, NGOs, dental professionals and health professionals, combining our expertise to accelerate progress through our proven curriculum and advocacy, ensuring that prevention and good oral hygiene remains a top global health priority. Working together, we will reach two billion children by 2025.

Watch the story of Ntokozo Pakade (Zoe); a young black, female entrepreneur, empowered by Colgate through the BSBF Program, to continuously carry out meaningful CHANGE in the community. She is a qualified oral hygienist who together with her team is providing kids with oral health education as well as toothbrushes and toothpaste, equipping these children to adopt good oral health practices . Through this empowerment Zoe and her team have been able to make a difference in the lives of an average of 16,000 kids a month giving them a brighter smile and future.

BBBEE Through The BSBF Program

- Colgate Palmolive South Africa is driving BBBEE through our Bright Smiles Bright Future program (BSBF) through our Enterprise & Supplier Development (“ESD” )programme to further amplify the BSBF programme and extend its reach in SA.

- Through the Enterprise & Supplier Development (“ESD”) programme, Colgate-Palmolive South Africa empowers qualifying black entrepreneurs by implementing a “owner-driver” model through which fully-kitted mobile dental vans are issued to these beneficiaries” who then conduct BSBF services all over developing communities in SA.

- Bright Smiles Bright Future program (BSBF) works in partnership with the Department of Health (DOH), Department of Education (DBOE) and dental associations (SADA and OHASA) to provide brushes & paste samples & Oral health education material to dental professionals
