how often should I change my toothbrush?

You should replace your toothbrush when it begins to show wear or every three months, whichever comes first. It's also very important to change your toothbrush after you've had a cold, because the bristles can collect germs that can lead to reinfection.

Why should I change my toothbrush every 3 months?

A new toothbrush cleans 95% better*, is gentle on your gums and prevents bacteria from building up on the toothbrush.
*In removing plaque between teeth after 12-week use of a new flat-trim toothbrush vs. a three month old flat-trim toothbrush

How do I choose between ultra soft, soft, medium or hard bristles?

Choosing the stiffness for your toothbrush bristles comes down to your personal preference. Choose the type of toothbrush that will be easy and comfortable to use at least twice a day. However, Dental Professionals recommend choosing soft-bristled toothbrushes, especially if you tend to push harder against your teeth. More pressure does not equal cleaner teeth and, in fact, can cause gum loss, which can contribute to tooth sensitivity. It may start to damage the enamel and tissue around your teeth.
If you feel like you're not getting a thorough clean with your toothbrush, talk to your dental hygienist or dentist about which toothbrush is best for you.
