Mouth sores and inflamation

I've been using Colgate Total for years, but sorry Colgate you've lost a loyal customer by tinkering with the formula (and hiking up prices substantially). I've tried to use the new formula a couple of times now but each time it has left me with an inflamed mouth and sores. When trying to narrow down which ingredients was causing the reaction, I was quite shocked by the sheer number of new chemicals that have been brought into the new formula. 15 ingredients, compared to the 10 in the Colgate Deep Clean Whitening with Baking Soda I've had to buy instead. This will probably be the last time I buy a Colgate toothpaste.

Colgate Total toothpaste bad reactions

I am a retired dentist and have always recommended Colgate toothpaste to my patients.
This new formula tastes very metallic to me and I have had to change to another make as I can't stand it, although my wife finds it is fine. I think, having read the reviews, it affects different people in different ways. I supect it is the stannous fluoride which is in a lot of toothpastes that I am trying and yet to find one I like. Please, Colgate, bring back the old formula with zinc fluoride, for lots of people like me who can't stand the new one and some are obviously having bad inflammatory reactions to it. You are losing lots of customers.

Rubbish new formula

Have used Colgate Total for years and always felt confident it looked after my oral health as well as being pleasant to use. The new formula is terrible and after “ bearing with “ the awful new taste and texture in hope that I may get used to it, after a couple of months use, I developed a dermatitis type reaction on the central part of my face. This is the only thing changed in my day to day life. I stopped using in June and needless to say I have finally recovered from the skin reaction. Colgate sent me a couple of vouchers. Very poor compensation. They have now lost a customer of more than 40 years whilst they continue with the new formula.

I’ve been using Colgate Total Active Prevention Original and I’m really pleased with it. The toothpaste has a nice, smooth texture that feels gentle yet effective when brushing. The smell is fresh and clean, and the colour is appealing, giving it that classic, high-quality Colgate feel.
One small but very practical detail I appreciate is the design of the tube — it can stand upright without tipping over, which keeps the bathroom counter tidy and makes it easy to use.

Awful product

I never write reviews on things but I feel I have to on this. I have been using Colgate Total Original all my life, I have tried to use the new formula Colgate and I can’t get over the taste it’s awful and it makes your breath smell worse. I will now be changing to another brand as well as my whole family as they say the same, it’s an awful product now. Please change it back the the original (original) formula or I feel you will be loosing a lot of customers.

I’ve been using this toothpaste for just over a week now- so far I don’t have any complaints. I like that it’s an antibacterial toothpaste which lasts 24 hours.. it certainly does feel refreshing. The product targets a range of tooth problems so it really does feel like a product that covers everything! The only thing it doesn’t claim to do is whiten teeth! (Although it does remove surface stains). I am having a few minor issues with my teeth at the moment (sensitivity mainly) so I feel like I’m being proactive by using this toothpaste.. I look forward to seeing the results as I continue to use the product.

Awful formula change

As a Colgate user of 60 years I hate the new formula. It tastes horrible, has a weird texture and my teeth no longer feel clean and it leaves my mouth and gums tingling in an unpleasant way. Please consider re-introducing the previous formula. In the mean time I will be looking for an alternative

New formula leaves mouth sore

The new formula is just awful. We've used Colgate for decades, but have now moved to a different brand as this new stuff leaves your mouth tingling and sore.
Reviews all over the world are the same, with some countries removing it from sale.
As other reviews have stated, this "new formula" is terrible, and they should return to the old stuff.
Avoid it.
